Hello, my dear readers. I’m asumuing you clicked the “About” page because you want to know who I am, what this blog is about, and why I’m writing it. This “About” page could be the determing factor on whether you choose to follow my blog or not. Well. I certainly hope you choose to follow it, as seeing the “You have a new follower” notification will make my day. However, I am not that great at creating these “About” pages. I have read some very interesting and inspiring “About” pages that sent my mouse straight to the “Follow” link at the top left corner of the page. While I hope my indroduction will make you eager and interested, I will understand if I have failed you.
I suppose in all this rambling, I ought to tell you something about myself: My name is Talia and I am a 27-year-old African American writer, trying to make a name for myself amongst this sea of writers who look nothing like myself. While I realize words are colorless, American marketing and media are not. Sometimes my posts will be race related, other times they’ll be writer related. Sometimes I’ll just sit on my soap box and share my observations. Regardless, I’m here to tell my truth and share a little bit of what I’ve learned along the way.
